St Bridget's, Skenfrith Needs Help
The church is often a romantic venue of choice for weddings and to locals it is a comfortingly familiar gathering place for funerals; it has a small worshipping community (see the www.skenfrith.org 'church diary' site for the times of services) and PCC.
"It is clear that the church needs repair and conservation inside and out; the costs of essential, urgent, repairs are now estimated at £350,000. This would secure the building by work to roofs, masonry, interior plasterwork and drainage. The works have been pared down because of increasing costs and increased taxes. The Friends will be contributing as much as they can once the go ahead for the works is given. And, they will continue to fund raise in order to make this mediaeval building better known in the wider world through its repair conservation.
